'...All these things'

Hmm,so many things taking our attention;here and there. It seems like they all are beautiful/attractive/deeply needed in themselves. Our soul been so thirsty/cries out for it, we deeply assume those things are 'true'. So we chase after them. Spending our time, energy, resourse just to make things work/get what exactly it is that attracts us.

Well, its really not a sin;in itself. Its in itself a natural inclination for every human. But there's something I really want to point out here: when what we seek(above all) becomes 'our love for other things' rather than  'our love for God', then its becomes an anomaly.

Matthew 6:33King James Version (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Isn't it interesting, how that, the things that shall be added unto us can take up our attention from the love of God(our Father)? God's love is so big, it can attract any good thing (its just like a magnet{attracting iron} or honey {attracting particles}).
This is to make you understand how delicate that love is and how much it can attract other things (I mean the thing we may be dyeing to get, that drew our attention from him).

Ps.91:14-Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

God telling us to set our love on him is His way of making sure no contaminants stay in our hearts and our lives are not hung on material things that'll fade away someday.  Its his way of making our heart go on whether things exist or not. God telling us to set our hearts on him is His way of shaping our hearts. And we can be rest assured that if our hearts are shaped,we can walk in His will(not just permissible but perfect will) and all that we desire will be added  unto us. Beyond all this, we'll be set on high.

In my last blog post 'preparation' I explained how that God always wants to prepare us for what he has prepared for us; his love is the basis for all good things: that'll last a life time. That's why his desire for us is to set our love on Him.

Its really been a while I've been here. I've really missed(writing) you all. Anyway you have a blessed day and catch y'all later.

:)

Whew!! It's been a really long while time :) .I've been quite busy with school:)

So I came across one of the posters from mygracecards (a facebook page I created to express the chronicles in my mind)) and I realized how true it is for you and I.

Very subconsciously we have believed in ourselves to be able to get things done. I say subconscious because sometimes we just do things and it seems like the norm; we let it pass, giving no meaning to it.  The truth is,some of these things are what count in our days of despair or when we need to encourage ourselves.

It's important that you find the value in what you have gone through and let it propel you to a greater height.

Sometimes we have to take a look at where we are coming from(where we have been) and we will have an idea of not just how much we can do but how far we can go. :)

I hope you find strength as you take a look at your life and see how much strength you displayed in certain situations that could have made others a wreck or in unbelievable situations :)
Have a blissful day ahead.

Preparations

Preparation is one of those words you've probably heard a thousand and one times.

I want to point your attention to something interesting about preparation that I realized.
Especially when God drops somethings in our hearts..
I was thinking some days ago about how God drops certain things in our hearts and sometimes we don't really get why He is asking us to do such things.Or maybe we get why but we just can't bring ourselves to do it.

Here's 'a why'- He always wants to prepare us for what he has preparing for us somewhere in the future. Most of the time, what he expects of us may be  things we are not so used to or would sure hit into our regular kinda life. You most likely would have an internal struggle and maybe,procrastinate/try not to face it.

I am one of those people who can try pushing aside what God would have me do.But I came to realize that my prayers would require actions that probably only God can give a specific leading. And also because God sees way ahead,I better do what He'ld have me do if I really want things to fall in place for me.

Sometimes,it could really be a struggle but 'you gotta do what you gotta do'.

So the next time God places something in your heart and you seem to see yourself doing it,just encourage yourself in knowing that someday you'll realized it was just the perfect time to have prepared(things will fall just in place).

The truth is,if you don't get to prepare, you  may end up having to 'repass' and do some EXTRA work
And then realize how-Obedience is better than sacrifice #winks.

p.s-Your heart was made by God,so He'll cause things to surface in your heart every now and then.

Would you?

Its 4 days after my grad from the uni today. It was such an exciting day for me.Took lots of pictures and still trying to collects them together. :) Here are some of them if you care to feed your eyes:

Yeah,thats me :)
This is Korede and her sister Busayo. They are like family to  me :).They are siblings by the way and yeah, she(Busayo) bakes heavenly cakes.
 The official pose..
I'm so excited about this particular shot! I look so excited..lol
That's Korede and Busayo's Aunt and Uncle.

Reminising on how the years have gone by and how i have had so many plans and aspirations through my years in the uni,I though it would be a good point to write on.

Its amazing how time goes by.

The question I have for you today is- would you have done all your heart know you should have done within a frame of time that you have in a particular place? Especially as a child of God,who has desires placed in your heart by God.

I say this because most times, things (distractions) can get in your way. If you are not careful(focused) enough, you may get to the finish line without actually achieving what you were meant to achieve in the first place.

This, of course,is relative to individuals because every individual has their God given and even personal dreams goals etc.

Having answered this question, its of course time to readjust your schedule or priority and get focused on what really matters. Most times, you are about the only one that knows what you really, really should do.

So,make things happen for you and be happy!!

Here are more shot..

These gals made a huge part of my stay in uni great!!
This happens to be the only picture i personally took with her (*crying face*),after accusing me I asked her to take me pictures with her camera because I didn't want to take any picture with her..lol
She's Helen Konde and is the visionaire of Getting Connected.

Occupy!

*Laziness inspired*-My laziness inspired this!!

I am a very huge fan of been yourself. This is because i believe everyone has been created uniquely to fulfill God's purpose for them on earth. I deeply believe that anyone can become whatever they set their minds to doing.

And truth is that no body can do thing like someone else. I mean, people may be up to the same task but they will carry out the same task differently and can come out with both results been excellent. This is because everyone has been wired differently.
So also everyone has a space they have been created to occupy on God's earth.

I believe that God has given us thought patterns and ways that we can get things done. The things is,you have to give yourself to growth.i have to give myself to growth-the right materials, challenges etc. These things will influence our way of thinking, doing things and even presenting ourselves. Thus, when we live this way,we would have lived out the life God intended for us to live. As opportunities present themselves,we live even on bigger stages.

I just want you to know that absolutely no one can occupy your space. NOBODY can do it(function) the way you can. This is the reason you want to grow and develop yourself. This is the reason you should do all you can to be better today than yesterday and tomorrow than today.

Get a material, expose yourself to a challenge that'll require you to do better,be around people who can challenge your thinking-to do better.

As much as no one can fill up your space on God's earth, you don't want to leave it empty.

You ask me how easy it is? Not at all because you will have urges that makes you lazy and perhaps do the wrong things

What you have to work on may not even be a talent,it may be something private that not everyone sees.

Luke 19:20- And he called his ten servants and delivered them ten pounds and said unto them, occupy till I come.

God has given everyone something(talent) to work on to be distinct in this life. To put this in another way,I would say everyone has something that's unique to them and them alone- some people can a lot (if that's you, load yourself with the right words so that you can influence people for good),some can act so well, etc. In whatever you know it is you can do well, begin to train yourself in it.

If you know what you are called to do already,do not wait for a stage or position before you start doing something.Jesus gave us a stage already, occupy.

In short, the earlier you grow(take baby steps) and become a better person, the better(more fulfilling) 'living' becomes for you.

The earlier I start to grow, the better living becomes for me.

Lesson 10: Unlearn &Relearn

Growth is in loops. Its a cycle.
What really does it mean to be willing to unlearn and relearn?
To unlearn is to undo what you have always known and to relearn is to take up a new knowledge.
Its to be willing to do away with what you have always known and be willing to get a better understanding, knowledge of something.
The fact that one has learnt something once doesn't mean one knows it all. That one learnt something doesn't mean one can really apply it right. That one learnt something doesn't even make it the right thing. Especially because things always present in different forms and ways.
Everything(people, society, etc) is changing everyday,so also are the dynamics of things changing, though, principles will remain.
I realized that to do this effectively,I have to pay attention to details like I wrote here.
Through it all,I realized that I must be ready to unlearn and relearn some truths so I can grow and keep growing.
Unlearning will require you to give other people's opinion a thought regardless of yours. I mean, allowing yourself to see things differently from another perspective. Been willing to unlearn and relearn places you at a point where you are not stern to always be right which could present you as arrogant.
It applies in all spheres like in acquiring knowledge to better your skill, relationships and basically all that  I have spoken about in previous lessons.
The truth is,unlearning is hard especially if you have to unlearn something you have lived most of your life with but you gotta do what you gotta do to be better you know.
Be willing to learn from everyone and anyone so long as you come to understand what you really need to.

As you keep on with the cycle, you evolve and grow. Yeah, learning, unlearning and relearning..

With a big smile on my face :) I end my lessons form 2015.Got so caught up with school.
#finally,I feel fulfilled!! I feel happy!! Like,I'm so excited right now.I really hope you learn alot from these lessons. Thanks for always stopping by:)

Lesson9: Plan

This word,as simple as it sound is so profound.

One of those school days I remember stopping twice along the way just to take a better view of the road and figure out how to pass through;simply because the road was messy and I had to be very careful else I raise dirt on my clothes.

These two pauses reminded me of how important it is to take some time out, every once in a while to make plans on how things should go.

Have you ever had an idea, spoken to in fact several people about it and then end up not doing it?
Its usually because of one of two things-you didn't have a plan or something else got in the way and choked your plan.
A plan is simply a road map you have for what you are all about per time. One of the reasons I believe people do not plan or find it difficult to plan is because we always want to be doing something! You get so used to doing so many things that it gets uncomfortable doing nothing.

To plan is simply to pause and deine how things should go.

Though there are different levels of planning,I am talking here about a plan that governs your routine or life per time.
The truth is that everyone and every other thing will get into your time if you do not have a plan and you will end up though busy, not fulfilled.
Having a plan and sticking to it is a way of developing discipline. One agenda after the other, one day after the other and before you know it you begin to exercise discipline in your life.

Planning will require you to say no to some things that really may be pleasurable. Yeah. There are times I have wanted to continue with an activity or engagement but had to leave or discontinue it because I had to go to whats next on my to-do list. This actually made me to begin making the best use of every little time I get or have.Like,I make it as quality quality you get as I can..yh!

You don't want to have a deep desire for what you believe is right for you to do and then endup not been fulfilled.

Taking time out to plan provided you with direction. It makes your journey clearer, makes every time worth it. It makes your conversation or actions tailored in the right direction.
The truth is, making a plan for yourself is powerful,if you allow your plans drive you. They always, always bring a strong sense of not just fulfillment but confidence in yourself.

In planning,a balance is needed. A balance of work, school, study, cooking, fun and every other thing you do. Oh YEAH!

This part of balance was a little shaky or challenging for me but its something I believe one has to learn unlearn and relearn to do as time and seasons pass by!
Balance is important so you don't crash!! Hehe...

Every time you realize you have fallen off track, get back on track and pick up the pace! That's the only way to get to your destination. But hey, you don't want to even do that in the first pace, you want to stay consistent.

Lesson 8: Face your fears

Oppositions are opportunities in disguise.
I don't want to believe its only youths that have fears. I believe that every once in a while as we walk on the path of destiny, there are certain things that may pop up and whisper fear in our hearts.
Facing my fears was another thing I had to learn to do. Still learning though!

Doing things afraid was my way of been courageous.

Fears really do come in different shapes, patterns, forms. It could range from starting up a project to even opening up to either give or receive love. (Oh Yeah!I said that!!)
One thing I  actually came to learn is that fear cripples. It cripples even your creativity. It cripples your ability to explore and discover whether or not something is really is really possible.

I discovered I had a little more confidence in myself for every moment I did what I had the instinct to do  even if I was afraid. And for every step that I took,I was freer in my spirit to have taken the step

Actually, facing your fears brings you to a state of consciousness not to flop or let me say a determination to make things work regardless. It kind of brings you to this point of paying rapt attention to how you can #get away with murder. lol

It grows your response ability and cognition.

Your fear could be your past.Yeah! Face it.Make whatever wrong you can right accept the responsibility for them so you can move on.

The Balance Of Two Worlds

Its very easy to get so caught up in the cares(plans) for tomorrow that you do not  enjoy the beauty in  today.

Very few things bit having a plan for your future. But you need to be careful that in planning for the future you lose touch of the present. Planning for the future also requires you to pay good attention to your present.

Every today will someday be a yesterday and every tomorrow will someday be a today. Not paying attention to the beauty is an habit that will definitely translate into not appreciating the beauty in tomorrow.

This is why its very important that you guard your mind and stay conscious and appreciative of where you are per time. The people around you,the task at hand, the moments you spend in different places, the position you possibly occupy, etc. This is what really defines you. This is what makes life worth living;having a plan for tomorrow(the future) yet not been too carried away as not to enjoy and grow in the present moment.

As you have the future in view, don't loose touch of the beauty in today. Take one step at a time.
Do the best you can not to neglect what is before you while trying to reach out to the future.

Build yourself with the present moments as you have the future in view. This makes you live on purpose.

Live conscious and appreciative of every moment with the future in view. This makes you have a balance between two worlds-the present and the future.

Lesson 7: Speak-up/Keep quiet

Words!
To speak up or to be quiet can be a difficult one to know. What exactly to say even when you decide to speak is also very important. I spoke a little about paying attention to details here . Do you know that every word you say affects who you say them to? Even how you construct your  sentences? Yes,it really does.

There are just few points I will list out concerning speaking up/keeping quiet.

  • Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh, says the bible. So,whether you like it or not, whether you are aware or not, whether you meant to say something or not;what you say defines you! I mean,it sharpens anyone's perception of you.More than ever before I had to be extra care what I said and actually think before talking.
  • What you say influences people. Whether you like it or not,it does and you want to be careful that what you are saying is well placed.(well constructed)
  • Silence is consent- This I especially had to learn because it dawned on me that whatever I keep quiet about I have to live with. Whatever I do not speak up about,I agreed with. This was especially tough for me because I would naturally just let things go,but then I realized there were certain things you really have to speak up about else you live with them.Truth is you cannot influence whats going on in your world if you do not air your sincere opinion about them. Personally I had to consciously do this because working or relating with people was inevitable! So it was either I learnt it or I'd never be free inside. Knowing what you really want to the base or foundation of speaking up or keeping silent.
  • People pay attention- You will be shocked/surprised how much attention people pay to what you say and how much it does influence or affect them. I failed time and again in this one and well, thank God for those who are genuine enough to let me realize somethings should not be said in certain ways.Sometimes I feel like the Holy Spirit does convict me per time on what I say wrong and then I have to go fix it up..lol. This is not to say that you speak to please everyone, rather its to say that you have sentences constructive enough to not hurt people's feeling yet pass your message across very clearly or the best way you can.
  • There are different categories of people in your life. Its wisdom to know how to address who.

It takes a level of attention to know whether to speak or just keep quiet some times. It may take a while for you to master this, but its important if you would have a good relationship with people.
The Holy Spirit is one person you also want to involve every step of the way.

Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut.-Proverbs.10:19

Another kind of believe;Be your loudest cheer leader

With a very big smile on my face I write this-Another kind of believe!
God has got great logistic plans;very great;very intellectually planned. He has His way of bringing people your way or putting people along your path to see something in you that you probably do not see in yourself at that time. Or maybe you even recognize the big you but somehow you just are not able to bring yourself to accept ( receive) it.
I want to talk to you about another kind of believe. This kind is the one you have in yourself. Its important that beyond the external support we have,we build ourselves to that point of been grounded in our believe of ourselves. The reason so many never rise is because usually they want to be accepted by certain people. They approach someone and once the person doesn't deliver they just 'mello' on their dreams or aspirations.
Its a process,it takes a period of believing and disbelieving even in your self, but its necessary if you are going to soar in life.
And its the foundation of your believe system.

Let's take a look at David: There are two levels of believe here-
First,he was all so sure that he was able to conquer Goliath
Secondly,he had to fight through the ideology of Saul  giving him his armor. Everyone would be honored to be accepted of a top notch king; in fact if a king believes in you-you are made already!! But here is David saying- ehn ehn, ніет (no in Russian lol), i can't fight this battle in another man's armor.
David had a different kind of believe in what God had placed in him! You see, sometimes God allows certain things to happen in our lives so that he can shape our believe system.
Sometimes,we get so carried away with what others are or have done that we underestimate what we really carry.
Constantly load your heart with who you are-that's what shapes your believe in yourself!!

Lesson 6: Know yourself; be yourself

There is more to knowing yourself than just knowing your name. There is a saying that you cannot be effective without been authentic.  To go through life excellently, its important to know oneself.

How do I mean?
Things work very differently for people, which is because God has made each one of us uniquely. For some people, its so easy to read up 10 pages of a book in about 30 minutes while some others will take up to 60,90 or even 120 minutes.  Personally I realize how much of time i needed to spend on certain things before i can come out with something more than average or just good.

Knowing where you stand as a person in your relationships, in how you handle issues, in how to even take care of you is very important . This is because its a baseline for your improvement or growth.

I had to get to that point where I eliminated certain things from my schedule just to focus on doing some other things better. The more you function from the standpoint of an understanding of yourself, the easier it is for you a to approach life.

Over and again I have had to learn always to be sincere to myself :) That's the only way you can get the best out of life!!

Being yourself is a product of knowing yourself. This part may be a struggle especially when you are in the same environment as you used to be. But here's where a fight for yourself comes in because, truth is where ever you go,you will have to prove yourself by been yourself. lol. It's like transitioning to a new normal. Its especially hard if you have lived all your life being something or someone else i.e not exactly knowing yourself. There will always be a pull towards who you used to be.

There's a comfort and ease that comes from understanding how your person works! When you know it well enough,it will speak louder than even your words. Self checks help you to maintain who you are as you grow.
:)

Lesson five: Holding Your Peace!

Hmm,this one,its very easy to lose it!Like just like that!!
This one was the one I had to really dig my heels in to do-lol. What exactly is peace? Peace is calmness and tranquility. Its been 'still' even in the midst of a storm or turmoil.I came to realize that no matter how 'bam' you are, somethings you may not want happening will pop up someday. But then, things are to test and prove what we have got on the inside.I came to learn that Peace is one of the things Jesus gave us.Two bible verses really stood out for me.The bible says
"Peace I leave with you,my peace I give to you.I do not give to you as the world gives.Do not let your heart be troubled. And do not be afraid." John 14:27

This one helped me grow in faith;because I realized that, though Jesus left his peace with me,I have a role to play in enjoying that peace.Apparently,God is not ready to raise a lazy people. So you gotta fight for your peace any whole way you can.Having to hold my peace is one of those things God really taught me to do.There was this particular scripture that was my anchor, "Be still and know that He is God". It actually stuck with me as I listened to this song 'Still' by Hillsong'. Even when I kind of held my peace already,I still would listen to the song just to love some more on God.Its beautiful when even if nothing is wrong you still love on God. Going a little further;I sought to know what God's word really said about peace.Guess what caught my attention:

"Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything(every circumstances and situation) by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your (specific) requests known to God.And the peace of God(that peace which reassures the heart, that peace)which transcends all understanding,(that peace which)stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus(is yours)" Phil.4:6-7(amp).

It's not the firdt time I read this passage, yet it was 'WOWingly' refreshing.Yeah :). Sometimes the battles that go in out mind and disturb us are not the battles to fight. This is one of the hardest things to do as a child of God but it's important that  we are not ignorant of devices of the enemy. The truth is that our thought is the bridge between our peace and anxiety/worry.What goes on in the mind is key when it comes to holding your peace.I came to realize that the more of God's word I had in mind and I meditated on,the more I had more peace.
Trust me it was hard having to allow these words settle in my heart. It requires a real conscious effort;over and over again.
We may not be able to control what comes our way per time but we have to learn to control how we respond per time so we don't loose our peace.

I hope you'll be able to connect with some of these lines and grow your faith as well. :) Cheers!

The walk to Stability

I hope you are inspired by the lines of this write up. Had it run all over my head as i woke up one evening.

******           ******
This piece,that piece
And this one..that other one too

What is going on?
Is there a switch somewhere?
How many shades will I see?
How long will it take?

With different intentions
Yet expressing different actions
Is it because of my attention?
Whats going on?

On this minute,Off the next
High this minute,Low the next
All alive this minute, all down-low the next  (Is there ever going to be a day that I'll be totally 'alive'?)
Is there a switch somewhere?

The good side, and then the less good
The friendly side, and then the less friendly
How many shades will I see?

Been on this for a really long time
Had a hope of a time to celebrate it
Right now I'm thinking;
How long will it take?

(Smiling) But I'll keep on walking
I'll keep on walking with my limp
Ain't I got a whole life ahead?
I will do better today that yesterday
And then tomorrow than today.

This piece,that piece
And this one..that other one too.

p.s- Let me know,at the comment box, which of the lines speak to you the most OR,which is you piece... :)

Lesson Four: Loyalty

Loyalty is faithfulness or a devotion to a personcountry, group, or cause.
Its looking into something you are convinced you should be doing and staying true to that cause. This lesson was interesting for me because God kindof took me back to the case of Ruth,Naomi and Opah in the bible.

Ruth happen to be a blessed  woman with two sons. She had all things going good/well for her until a disaster she had not prepared for came upon her household.

First, her husband died, then her sons-these happen to her in another land-her husband moved the whole household to a foreign land. He probably had some new business deal there or life was supposedly going to be more palatable there. Now she was left with no one but her daughters-in-law.What a loss? It was like everyone she has ever loved for a tangible responsible period of her life is gone. Everyone she could possible resonate with was no more. They weren't traveled, they weren't living in some other regions, they were no more-total separation. Wow!
That must have been a huge heartbreak for her. I am sure she must have been so overwhelmed by her loss that she had come to a conclusion that it was the end for her. Thus she says to her daughters-in-law to go find someone else who suits them. She even went to then extent of helping her daughters-in-law project into the future and said, even if she was to give birth that day which was impossible, the child would have to grow-up before they can be productive.
When it comes to conceding defeat, facing your fears and moving on,Naomi was ready to do that.(Who said women are no courageous??..lol). Facing her fears, she told her daughters-in-law to move on with their lives by finding someone other guy who suits them.
Opah was all for that.Off she went! But this amazing daughter-in-law called Ruth, stayed. She did not just stay, she made a statement-she said-

..."Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.-Ruth.1:16.

OMG! isn't this amazing?

Well this statement turned Ruth's life around forever. She would go with Naomi back to their home land and stand by her.Even go to the extent of going to farm land s so she could get something for the both of them to survive.

This taught me a lesson-One very crucial. When God places you somewhere or in a relationship and things go bad,he would have you stay loyal and be a solution(be committed to making things work);if you would yield to him and allow him teach you the way to go. If you noticed here,Ruth said- '..your God shall be my God.' It takes understanding of who you are(in God's sight) to understand that EVEN IF where you are is dysfunctional like in Ruth's case, there's a solution you can profer.
Naomi must have known God so well that Ruth would have to make that statement- ...Your people will be my people and your God my God. So it did not matter if it was a dysfunctional family, she had the heart of a solution bringer. And it was a  commitment to a God who was a solution giver.

Loyalty doesn't just happy-disloyalty does!
Loyalty is a choice you make to be still and know that God is God!!
Loyalty requires you to believe that God loves you too much to leave you alone in the storm,he would come through for you in your faithfulness to the cause he has placed in your hands!!!

Lesson three:Personal Growth

Its exactly one week since the time I should have put out this piece.I had it hanging there in my dashboard.I had to jump off my bed to put it up right now;realizing how procrastination can can stop you from reaching your goals. How it can cling to you so closely that your dreams sleep off. How that one has to keep fighting to do what you ought to do is what this teaches me!
#Much remorse right now_sad face.
Hope you catch the lesson in this piece :)

Personal Growth.
Hmm,this very part!!! Very few things beat personal growth in life.

This one hit me real big in 2015. For real, very few things beat personal growth.  In fact I believe its the key to any form of greatness(multiple success).
If you are like me whom is the last child, you are probably already used to depending on others or like allowing things just happen and not 'taking charge'. Or maybe its not just a last child thing, its a normal thing that happens to everyone(at least at some point or the other).
But,a time comes when you get to take charge for yourself, now is the time if you are reading this. 'Twale' to you/I dough my cap for those whom have gone ahead in personal growth. The earlier you start, the less purposeless life or any second of yours will be.
Personal growth is hard work.  I would have loved to say its not for lazy people but its REALLY for lazy people coz you've gotta be hardworking boo/bae (smiles).

Proverbs.6:10-11- A little sleep,a little slumber,a little folding of the hands to rest Your poverty will come in like a vagabond and your need like an armed man.

Personal growth is basically deciding for yourself that you are going to be better at one area of the other.
Its literally, getting conscious of your state and facing it I.e-competing with yourself to be better than whoever you used to be;regardless of what anyone does or say.
The height to which you grow personally is the height to which you would stay relevant. Personal growth is like preparing yourself for whatever will come. Simply getting better at what you do.

I spoke about understanding your peculiarity through the knowledge of God here -http://graceadeniyi.blogspot.com/2016/01/knowing-your-god.html .Personal growth propels you to work at BECOMING.

One area or the other regardless of whether you have a reason to showcase it or not.
Here was how I pushed myself- 'I am going to grow for my Father' - I am going to be the best version of me for my (heavenly) Father's sake. That gave me a lot of ginger. My Father been God.
So what do you do? Identify an area that defines you(e.g you are a student or teacher, a drummer or pianist,an engineer or doctor,a pastor or church worker),get better at it. Learn  something new about it.
Pick interest in something new, enlarge your capacity in it.(e.g cooking, making hair, baking, spiritually etc.)

The thing is,nobody knows you are growing until they see that you have grown! Be your greatest fan in the place of growth and you will have the greatest fan base after you are grown!! Make sense??? Haha..
Personal growth is the process of becoming!! Its investing in that person that was birth in God's presence. Its what life is all about after knowing/discovering yourself.

So how do you grow personally?

  • Identify that part of you that needs to get really top notch/ identify your gift.
  • Spend less time on other things and more time polishing that part of you that needs some touch. Call a trainer to train you,get on youtube and learn a new method, observe people, ask questions, read up on how people have done theirs and how you can come up with an original you using their principle;get really conscious and proactive about you! Go beyond the norm and refine yourself.
  • Be patient with yourself enough- you will definitely fail in the process or get bored most probably because you are the only one in it. But you've got to keep keeping on. Define what you want and keep reminding yourself. Keep your friends posted! The true ones will stand by you.
  • Always commend yourself for every step you take no matter how little. You could also have an accountability partner.

The world is waiting to see a greater, better you. You have more days ahead than you do behind you. So,just do it! :) . This is one thought pattern that keeps me going.
Here's where I say bye. Catch up with you at the comment session. Let me know what its been like having to grow yourself :).

Lesson 2: Paying Attention To Details.

In this time where everything is on the fast lane; fast food, microwave cooking and, if you are a student like me,you would probably also rush for classes, its very easy to pay little or no attention to details.
Details are the core or connecting dots in attaining true or in-dept understanding. They are those tiny information that are easily waved off or shoved off.

Paying attention to details helps us to do things thoroughly and thus get the very best of it. Most people do not like paying attention to details and some unknowingly don't because they claim there's no time or are not ready to 'slow down'. Paying attention requires time and patience.

The thing is, the things you take quality time to do usually pays off on the long run.Whatever you get the 'true feel' of sticks with you longer. It comes in 2 forms:

  • REFLECTION - ruminating on your past experiences and making sense out of them for your growth or future life before taking up something new.
  • PARTICIPATION - been consciously present where you are and maximizing the moment. Giving your best contribution or getting the best (information) of every moment. It is intentionally focusing on where you are and what you are doing per time.

With this, you do not waste any moment of your life because you will end up making sense of it all. That is full consciousness per time.

Even the Bible says; if you sow sparingly, you will reap sparingly and if you sow bountifully, you will reap bountifully.

What are the areas you may need to pay attention to?

1) Yourself- Next to paying attention to knowing God is knowing yourself. There are SO MANY things about you that you take for granted but are the key to your distinction in life. Take note of the little details about you.Own those details, especially the ones that make you different, because you were really made to stand out. Its the key to any form of influence.

2)  Our relationships- Always be conscious of what is going on in every of your relationships. Be careful that your iPad, tabs, smart phones etc. don't take your attention while speaking to people. Especially in your most important relationships, make sure you are listening and observing properly so you can be sure to connect the dots. Also take time out to allow your past experience with the person or your other relationships channel you to the best way or 'how' to relate properly to the person. Make sure you take out time for them. Relationship with God, family and friends are key!

3) Purpose or your assignment- Its so easy to get distracted or carried away by every other thing but what you are called to or responsible to doing (lazy in the place of purpose). You may find yourself doing everything but what you have really purposed to do per time.

4)Others- Pay attention to the detail of time, the particular words you say and use, the promises you give, to whom you speak, what exactly you eat, how you study/read, how you plan etc.
It is key to excellence/distinction.

So you read it all and you are like 'where do I even start from?'
Hehe..Here's your answer:
  • Just decide right now to begin paying attention to details/concentrate.
  • Anytime you loose concentration, try to regain it. You get steady with time. Remember this: "whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously" - 2Corinthians 9:6  (from the Bible).

p.s- This particular lesson,I had to learn and relearn and relearn and I am still learning!!!

Cheers to a great week ahead!!

Lesson One: Knowing 'your' God

There are 7.4 billion people on earth. Findings say adults make 35,000 decisions daily while babies make 3000 decisions(you didn't know that, did you?). About 3.2 billion fall within the age range of 15-44years of age.

Very few things bring life and excitement or enthusiasm like a new idea you think is so great. It could almost take all your attention and mind. You can almost have an 'action rush' , as you would go all the way out just to get your idea to come into reality. Note that an action rush is different from a 'steady build'. Like any other great thing in life, challenges, especially unprecedented will arise (many of them disrupting your plan!)

I came to realize that nothing beats a person who not just has an idea but knows God. I got to this point in 2015 where I just had to settle to really find my God and grow my faith.
What exactly does it mean to know God?
Knowing God is like enlarging your understanding of God and establishing a personal strong believe in God through a personal search of Him. Knowing God is not just about knowing His word but cultivating or building a relationship with Him. The truth is,several things begin to make sense to you- i.e the eyes of your understanding will begin to open,to even things you never unprecedented. This was especially helpful when I had my mind really clouded with so many things that did not fall in place for me. The truth is,its really hard to move on when things do not go your way, especially as a youth -its like an heart break.

Daniel.11:32b - '...but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.'

There's a kind of light every understanding of God's word brings to your life that helps you navigate life in a different way. Of the 7.4 billion people on earth, the truth is,no one is exactly the same i.e. everyone has their peculiarity. Knowing God literally brings you to a personal spot with God- such that you navigate life based on your peculiarity and His word really helps you by the HolySpirit to know how exactly to navigate life specifically for 'you'. Knowing God is getting to have a relationship with Him.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."Jere.1:5

There's something about understanding your peculiarity that gives you a particular poise and quickens your stallion spirit to live out life with every sense of courage and fulfillment. So that, regardless of the billions of people on earth, you can stand out to 'do you' in God's way. This arises only from a knowledge of yourself which is birth from a knowledge of God.
Truth: It takes time to get to that point where, regardless, you are unshaken, but keep at it.One day at a time, one step at a time.

I know its often said that we should know the word of God. The angle of knowing God I am talking about is taking Him more personally, beyond what wither your Pastor or even others say. Taking Him for every word he says about you. You be like ain't nobody got time for that? lol.
Oh yeah! Personally.

  • Getting to know God helps you to know you better.
  • Knowing God gives you courage to face your fear
  • No decision goes wrong with knowing God.
Psalm 16:11- You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

How to know God.
-Decide to
-Fix a particular time- its important to purposely fix a time for the study of the word or any other material that could bring you close to knowing God better. Else it can easily get shuffled off your to-do list.
-One day at a time- no matter how small you get in a day,it is okay for that day.Give yourself a pat on the back and look forward to the next day.
-Engage the HolySpirit by asking Him questions.
-Finally,Just do it.

I would like to know how your journey on knowing God has been :) . Let's catch-up at the comment bar.

2015

Hi hi hi!!!
Its been a while yeah?
Yes I know. But i am excited to be here. I am working on a series of 10 lessons I learnt in 2015.
In a nutshell though,
I learnt to speak from been silent
I learnt to be silent form speaking
I learnt to pay attention from neglecting
I learnt to neglect from paying attention
I learnt to smile beyond the pain
I learnt to go on my knees(pray)
I learnt to trust God
It was really a defining year for me.
Like, every of God's word made so much sense like never before.
Okay,let me stop there...
I should be releasing them from Wednesday 20th. Never stop praising God regardless of what's going on. Have a grateful heart for whatever little you have.
Remember~ All things work together for good for those that love the Lord and are the called according to His purpose.-Romans 8:28. :)

P.S: I had the opportunity to serve in my church at school, that's how I got to learn certain things. So,get a place of worship to serve God; God's going to grow you in a way you never imagined.
#Peace
